I prefer the single peonies because like single roses they provide a rich source of pollen for scarcer insects such as Long Horned Beetles and Bumble Bees. Also they have a beauty that far outclasses the doubles, though of course over a shorter period. “Blaze’ holds its flowers on robust stems about 65 cm. tall and has rich healthy green foliage.
