This has become one of my top summer flowering magnolias. It is a cross between globosa and virginiana making a small tree suitable to almost any size of garden. The flowers open from late May well into summer with a rich spicy scent. Leaves are held into winter but fall without becoming untidy on the branches, leaving room for uncluttered spring growth. This magnolia requires a sunny site.
