Bred at Caerhayes by head gardener Philip Tregunna and highly regarded by magnolia enthusiast John Gallagher. In Cornwall generally flowers in late February and March. Forms a tree reaching some 15m in height. Appreciates growing in the company of other trees as they provide shelter from strong winds. Flowers best in full sun but is nearly as good in light shade.
