Hydrangea arborescens 'Hayes Starburst'
Starbursts of white lacy flowers from late summer into Autumn.
£8.50
Given to me by Ted Stevens i was pleased to be amongst the first in Europe to grow this plant and it was just as superb here as it was in Hayes’ garden. The species is native to the eastern USA and in this selection makes a small shrub less than 1m tall. It is more tolerant of dry soils than most hydrangeas, but not if grown in full sun, otherwise adapts well to most aspects and soils. Foliage turns a nice golden yellow in autumn.
