Gardenia jasminoides 'Kleim's Hardy'
Small evergreen shrub with powerfully fragrant summer flowers.
£12.50
This really is a hardy gardenia but it requires a west or south aspect to succeed in the UK. Has survived temperatures below -12 Celsius in a cold Hampshire garden. The flowers open white from cream buds and then age butter yellow. Needs acid or neutral soil and benefits from applications of weak liquid fertilizer during the growing season. Not hardy if grown in a pot but can be brought into conservatories etc. for the winter which prolongs the flowering season.
