Digitalis parviflora
Perennial foxglove with orange-brown flowers on stems about 60cm tall.
£3.95
Small species of foxglove from the mountains of Spain. Established plants have 3 or 4 spikes of dense packed flowers. Best on well drained soils in a sunny situation though it will tolerate a little shade. The small individual flowers are of great interest to solitary bees etc, perhaps because their larger cousins have difficulty gaining entry! A good plant for a rock or gravel garden, otherwise in small groups near the front of borders. I like using it in combination with sea hollies and echinacea.
