Buddleja glomerata 'Silver Service'
Small evergreen with outstanding silver-grey foliage and spikes of yellow flowers scented of cinnamon and cloves.
£9.50
I was given this plant by a nurseryman near Nice, France. He’d collected the plant in South Africa and grown it for some 30 years. An English wholesaler applied the name ‘Silver Service’ to it several years after I brought it back. In the UK it makes a 1.5m upright shrub. Main flowering is in early summer but it can repeat sporadically through the season. Needs a sheltered sunny site protected from North and North East winds, young plants are best fleeced in their first winter.
